My passion is to meet each client where they are in their life struggle and guide them through the process of self-actualization to achieve independence, competence and live a meaningful life. I provide a tailored therapeutic approach that matches the need of each person.
Working with school age children, adolescents, adults, couples and families that have issues with mood disorder, conduct disorder, anxiety, stress, depression, substance abuse, self-esteem, trauma related disorders, career changes, life transitions and adjustment problems, and relationship issues.
I have experience as a clinician-in- training with a non-profit residential organization and out-patient practice, and in a K- 8 public school setting. I also have experience treating adolescents with substance abuse disorders and their families as they stabilize and transition back to their environments. I work with out-patient adolescents, adults, couples and families with diverse backgrounds and with all ranges of concerns.
I have training in cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy, systems therapy, and mindfulness therapy. I am a humanistic client-centered therapist.
I am a professional member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), the Santa Clara Valley California Association of Marriage and Family Therapist (SV-CAMFT) and California Association for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (CALPCC). I continue to educate myself and stay current in mental health issues by attending local conferences, keeping up with current therapy research, and seeking supervision.
I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist # 109970 and a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor # 5882. I hold a Master of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with Emphasis in Professional Clinical Counseling from Touro University Worldwide, a Master of Science Degree in Health Services Administration from University of St. Francis and a Ph.D. in Health Services from Walden University focusing my dissertation on adjunct screening methods to conventional mammography for cancer in dense breast tissue.
