Therapy can shift our life-lens and give us perspective. It validates our humanity. It can help us find, understand and maintain our authentic self as well as learn how we communicate and engage with others. Therapy creates a space for empathy, connection and clarity.

My experience spans work with adults, teens, children and couples and individuals in various life phases. My area of focus includes but is not limited to grief and loss, anxiety, depressive symptoms, adjusting to change and life-transitions, relationship-issues, and life challenges resulting from racial and multicultural identity.

Therapy is essential to healing from crisis-related trauma, however it does not always have to be crisis responsive. You may want to change self-defeating behaviors or develop or improve your sense of purpose. While the influence of life experience from infancy through adulthood is undeniable, I specialize in using person-centered therapy that focuses on the present with strengths-based, solutions-oriented emphasis and holistic and mindfulness practices that nurture self- awareness.

*Studies show there are healing attributes in nature, which can be supportive of therapeutic application. As we progress safely from more pandemic-related restrictions, we can explore outdoor activities and restorative practices like yoga and meditation, which can be useful to encourage and sustain good mental, physical and spiritual strength.

Together, we will develop self-affirming habits that give you new ways to cope and thrive as you navigate your world and sustain a more fulfilling life. All of this can be done in the comfort of your home via my virtual office or in-person at the Nugent Therapy, San Jose office.

I am supervised by a Licensed Therapist. My supervisor is Carlos Aguila, LCSW #75033.
