As a therapist, I employ a holistic view. I respectfully explore behavioral, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual aspects of my client’s life. My style is warm and active. My approach is grounded in proven methodologies including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TEAM-CBT), Attachment, and Choice Theory. I give feedback, suggestions, ideas, research-based information, and other perspectives. I am skilled in working with multi-disciplinary teams to help you get the fullest benefits from treatment.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan, and both my Master’s and Ph.D. from The California School of Professional Psychology/Alliant International University.
Prior to joining Nugent Family Counseling Center, I worked at the YWCA Silicon Valley’s Healing Center. There I provided trauma-informed, client-centered, strength-based, and culturally sensitive teletherapy for individuals and families affected by the aftermath of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, child abuse, or other crisis situations. I also conducted group and individual therapy with high school students for key issues related to online learning, depression, anxiety, and mental health.
I am registered in the state of California as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor and am supervised by Carlos Aguila LCSW #75033 of Nugent Family Counseling Center Inc. I see clients predominantly at the San Jose office and through Telehealth.
